그리고 어제 소더비에서 그녀는 다이애나 왕세자비가 입었던 것으로 유명한 가라드의 아탈라 십자가를 샀다.

모든 수집가들은 패턴을 따른다.
권력자 여성들과 관련된 물품들을 수집하고 있는 김씨도 마찬가지다.

하지만 문제는 왜?

그리고 그것은 유산의 힘과 한 때 카리스마적인 인물에 속했던 물체와 접촉하는 것이 이전 주인의 에너지의 일부를 어떻게든 전달할 수 있다는 우리의 믿음과 관련된 질문이다.

And yesterday at Sotheby’s she bought the Attallah cross by Garrard @garrard famously worn by Princess Diana.

Every collector follows a pattern.
So does Kim, who is collecting items connected to powerful women.

But the question is why?

And it is a question linked to the power of provenance and our belief that being in contact with an object once belonging to a charismatic figure can somehow convey some of the previous owner’s energy.

다이애나 왕세자비가 가장 좋아하는 작품 중 하나로 알려진 아탈라 십자가는 1920년대 궁중 보석상 개러드가 만든 펜던트다. 그녀는 1987년 10월에 캐서린 워커 드레스와 함께 임신과 출산 동안 인권 보호를 위해 노력하는 자선 단체인 Birthright를 후원하는 자선 갈라에 그것을 입은 것으로 가장 유명하다.

이 십자가는 1980년대에 내임 아탈라 CBE가 가라드로부터 사들인 것으로, 다이애나 왕세자비와의 우정을 통해 수년에 걸쳐 여러 차례 그녀에게 빌려주었다. 이 십자가는 공주가 착용한 것일 뿐이며, 그녀의 죽음 이후 지금까지 대중 앞에서 다시는 볼 수 없었던 것으로 알려져 있다.

십자형 펜던트는 플뢰레 스타일로 꽃무늬 디자인 디테일로 구분되며 원형 컷 다이아몬드에 포인트를 준 사각 컷 자수정으로 세팅된다.

Said to be one of Princess Diana’s favorite pieces, the Attallah cross is a pendant created in the 1920s by court jewellers Garrard. She most famously wore it in October 1987, paired with a Catherine Walker dress, to a charity gala in support of Birthright, a charity working towards the protection of human rights during pregnancy and childbirth.

The cross was bought by Naim Attallah CBE from Garrard in the 1980s, and through his friendship with Princess Diana he loaned it to her several times over a number of years. It is understood that the cross was only ever worn by the Princess, and following her death, it was never seen in public again until now.

The cross-shaped pendant is of fleurée style – made distinct by flowery design details – and set with square-cut amethysts which are accented by circular-cut diamonds.

  메건도 해리가 저런 다이유품들을 본인한테 척척 사주길 바랄듯ㅎㅎ
